Mia Garitano-Rivera is a very well respected, hard working lyric and melody writer in the Pop, Pop/Rock, R&B, Dance, A/C, Latin and Country genres. She most recently has been able to add “producer” to her credits (see below for details).
Mia’s very unique, metaphorical, and often times socially conscious concepts, titles, stories and lyrics along with her melodies that bring them to life have given her the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the music business including:

Narada Michael Walden - Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter - Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, etc. Some collaborations with Mia have been with/for recording artists Wild Orchid, Sheena Easton, Angela Bofill, Fergie (Black Eyed Peas), etc.

Kevin Savigar - Producer/Songwriter of such multi-platinum hits as: “Forever Young” and “Young Turks” by Rod Stewart; “Hold On” by Jamie Walters; "Nothin' To Lose" a #1 Country hit by former "American Idol" finalist, Josh Gracin and “Keep Your Eyes On The Prize”, written with Mia, which received a wonderful review by Larry Flick in Billboard Magazine as performed by Joanna Pacitti - A&M Records. Since then they’ve struck with this song again, getting it placed on Katelyn Tarver’s (“American Idol, Jr.”) album “Wonderful Crazy” – TC Records. Mia also earned credit as a producer on this rendition.

Peter Rafelson - Producer/Songwriter of such huge hits as: “Open Your Heart” by Madonna & songs for Sister Sledge, Anne Murray, Stevie Nicks, etc. Peter and Mia’s collaboration resulted in a song for recording artist/actress Katie Stuart on 2K/EMI.

Preston Glass - Producer/Songwriter of such #1 hits as: “Miss You Like Crazy” for Natalie Cole & more with Earth, Wind & Fire, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Johnny Gill, & the recently released Freda Payne song written with Mia called, “Let’s Make Beautiful Music” on Freda’s, “Come See About Me” album released on Fantasy/Jolt Records & Concord Music Group.

Jorge “G-Man” Corante - Producer/Songwriter of songs for Janet Jackson, K-Ci & JoJo, Paula Abdul & recently written with Mia for Taylor Dayne.
Mia's songs have been featured in “America’s Next Top Model” and CBS’s movie of the week, “The Russell Girl”. In addition, Mia and/or her songs have been recognized in articles in "Billboard Magazine" and "Playback Magazine".
UCLA, Songwriters’ Guild of America (SGA) and Lionel Richie chose Mia as the winner of the Lionel Richie Songwriting Scholarship; she was invited to participate in several of KC Porter’s “Songwriter Summits”; and she was awarded the “ASCAP Special Pop Award” three times.
Mia can now add film festival WINNER for "Best Music" in the "Thinking Hat Film Challenge," "Best Music - Short Film" in the "Beyond Earth Film Festival" and "Award of Excellence" for "Best Original Song" for her song, "Take it Like A Man..." in the multi-award winning film, "Lizzy's Plan," from "WRPN Women's International Film Festival." Mia is the creator, writer, producer, lead actress, and songwriter for all of the songs, in "Lizzy's Plan" and even sings "Wrap My Love Around You," in the film.
